Dr. Sarath’s Dental & Orthodontic Centre

Conservative Dentistry

In conservative dentistry our ultimate goal is to preserve natural dentition or to restore it to the best state of health, function and esthetics.

This includes studies of all aspects of the tooth decay (its cause, prevention and treatment) - on the tooth surface.

Operative / Restorative Dentistry

Our aim is to restore proper tooth shape, structure, function, esthetics and its harmonious relationships with surrounding tissues while preserving pulpal health.

DOC centre provides you with extensive restorative services.

We use mercury free tooth coloured fillings.

Composite Filling
Our composite fillings are tooth coloured resin based cosmetic fillings which are metal free and thus health friendly.

Expert endodontics services are carried out in our centre. Endodontic procedures have evolved a great deal in the last few years and it is now possible to predictably treat and save a tooth that years ago would have required extraction.

Now, a badly decayed tooth need not be extracted (removed) instead root canal treatment can be done. This involves the removal of diseased pulp tissue.

The aim of this treatment is to remove infection caused by bacteria from inside the tooth. We use anesthesia to make the procedure pain-free. An opening is made on the top of the tooth, then the pulp chamber and root canals are cleaned and shaped for filling and sealing. The permanent filling is followed by new crown.

Post and Core

Placing a Post and Core is a procedure that is required in order to rebuild or restructure and to make stronger tooth that had root canal treatment. Addition to it the proper support necessary to restore a tooth with a cap or crown.

The post itself is a metallic or reinforced fiber structure that is placed within the root of a tooth that has had a root canal treatment. When a root canal is performed, the nerve is removed and the space it occupied is filled with a special filling material.

In placing a post, we remove some of this root canal filling material creating a space. The space that is created is used to anchor the post within the root of the tooth.

A core is built from filling material around the part of the post that sticks out of the root after the post is cemented into the root. The core is shaped so that it will anchor and retain a crown.

Crown and Bridge

Crown and bridge is a way of replacing your missing tooth in a fixed and permanent manner. This is done as metal or metal free crowns and bridges.

Crown is a restoration that covers, or caps a tooth to restore it to strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth. A root canal done tooth should be crowned after the treatment. A tooth can be crowned for cosmetic purpose as well as for covering a broken tooth, thus making it functional.
Bridges are dental appliances that replace one or more natural missing teeth thereby ‘bridging’ the space between two teeth.

In dentistry, a veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. To fabricate a veneer, composite and dental porcelain are two main types of material used.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are long-lasting, natural-looking and because they are custom-made it can cover up all kinds of tooth problems: chips, overlaps, "short" teeth, crooked teeth and gaps
